Mürren, Switzerland
After spending our first 6 nights on our 3rd floor, tiny Chalet AirBnB, the time had come to move on. Down the road. To another AirBnb in Mürren! We weren’t able to to book cheap lodging for the whole 11 days in this beautiful place. So we maximized our budget and savings and moved to our new locale, very close to the train station.
On our way, we stopped by Intersports to grab hot beverages. We also stopped by the Mürren Tourist Center to pay our tourist taxes. That’s right. On top of the EXTREMELY expensive costs of travel, lodging, and food, Switzerland charges nightly taxes to each person who visits their country. For example, Alina and I both paid 4.60 Francs per night, while Jonas only was charged 2.40. So, all together for 6 nights, our family paid 69.60 in tourist taxes. So. Be warned.
We hauled all 7 pieces of luggage to our next AirBnb, which was at the North end of town, the last apartment chalet on the street. It was also on the 3rd floor. Ugh. No elevator.
However, when we entered the room, we felt like we had received a huge upgrade. It was a very nice, spacious 3-bedroom apartment with a jaw-dropping view of the mountains across the valley below.
We spent the rest of the day getting settled, resting, doing laundry, shopping, etc.
Jonas and I had heard some bells ringing, so we hiked up the trail right next to the place and saw Swiss cows grazing in the fields.
To give Alina some space, Jonas and I walked into town. We spent some time at a small park and then took the funicular up to Allmendhubel, the amazing Flower Park.
